Vintage Design
This stunning vintage hand-cast brass coffee table features an intricate base in the shape of a Bonsai tree with a thick, faceted glass top. Belgium, 1970s.
In the manner of Willy Daro who was a Postwar French artist known for his botanical and floral sculptural forms, as well as his integration of Brutalist style with luxurious natural materials such as fossils and minerals. He founded his factory, Les Nouveaux Ateliers Willy Daro in Brussels in the early 1960s, where he created sophisticated furniture and decor through 1987.
Polished brass birds perched on a branch, adjustable petal glass supports.
Replacement bevelled edge 10mm toughened glass top with adjustable ‘Flower’ glass supports.
