Large original painting signed lower right, Slade, having striking figurative rendering that’s almost abstract. The figure appears to be female with a dreamy, bold and powerful style.
Note: We have a second Slade painting to make a beautiful twosome.

Breathtaking 19th century beautiful portrait of a woman. Made with exceptional fine details. The artist was very good in the finest details. The hands are beautiful, the eyes are speaking and the band on her arm. Her clothes are draped and there is even a ribbon in her natural hair. The woman has a sensual appearance by the way she looks and the way her clothes are draped.
You cannot stop to look at it. The portrait is made from oil paint and painted in canvas. It is framed in an antique 19th century frame made from wood with a passe – par tout . The frame at the back has some signs of aging.
The painting itself is in good condition. No visible restorations.
The measurements are about:

About the Artist:
Pat Carbone grew up in Toledo, Ohio and spent Saturday mornings attending children’s art classes at The Toledo Museum of Art. These experiences inspired her to study art and she received a degree in art education from the University of Toledo.

After teaching art for over 30 years in Athens, Ohio, Pat retired and moved to Dublin, Ohio in 2012. It was here that she revisited her love of oil painting. Meeting and working with other artists in the Columbus area has enhanced her art passion.
Capturing landscapes on canvas from her travels and others is especially rewarding.

In addition to painting, Pat is a docent at the Columbus Museum of Art and leads tours for children visiting from schools around Ohio.
