Vintage Design
The Danish designer and interior design is one of the most influential desgins of the 20th century. He transferred the Pop Art psychedelic aesthetics into the profession of interior design. Panton used one of the first designer materials such as plastic, foam or rubber in an innovative way.
Nevertheless, the drafts of the innovator from fashion came out of fashion during the seventies. In the mid -nineties, triggered by a Vogue cover with Kate Moss sitting on a Panton Chair, the artist’s revival began. For example, the Spiegel had the “Snackbar” designed by Panton in 1969 into the publishing house in Hamburg HafenCity, which was newly built in 2011.
Verner Panton died in Copenhagen in 1998.
