Elegant and practical bar cart attributed to Cesare Lacca, made in Italy, circa 1965. Round walnut drop down top, handles and wheels in brass. The brass shows beautiful age related patina, the walnut top and shelves are in wonderful original condition. Cesare Lacca was an Italian furniture designer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Genoa in 1868, Lacca was known for his innovative designs and his use of high-quality materials. He was particularly interested in combining traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern industrial techniques, and his furniture pieces reflect this blend of old and new. Lacca’s designs were influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and the Art Nouveau style, and he was known for his use of rich, warm woods and intricate details. He was also a master of inlay and marquetry, and many of his pieces feature intricate, decorative patterns and motifs.
