Mid-Century Modern Pair of Brasiliana Armchairs by Jorge Zalszupin, Brazil, 1960 Designed in 1965, the “Brasiliana” armchair pays homage to Brasília, the recently founded Brazilian capital by Oscar Niemeyer. It features a wood structure, voluminous cushions with wood carved upholstery buttons, two bolster pillows, and brass details. Its complex wooden joinery on the arms showcases the expert craftsmanship by Zalszupin in the construction.
